Twenty-one year-old Dallas McCarver, who had competed in just two contests prior to the weekend, surprised everyone to win the Overall in Men’s Bodybuilding and become the youngest competitor to do so at a national-level show since since Shawn Ray won the Overall at the 1987 Nationals. McCarver has been training for competitions for just 18 months.
The final count was 640 competitors and 39 total pro cards over the two-day event, 78 more than the previous record of 562, set a year ago in Cleveland.
