Publishing titan Robert Kennedy passed away this morning due to complications stemming from cancer. Kennedy, who started MuscleMag International, Oxygen, Clean Eating, Reps! and Maximum Muscle, was 73 years old.
Born in 1938 in Norfolk, England, Kennedy’s passion for bodybuilding started at an early age. He started his flagship magazine, MuscleMag International, in 1974. In addition to his stable of magazines, Kennedy has also written 53 books, including several New York Times bestsellers; Hardcore Bodybuilding, Reps!, RockHard!, Beef It!, and Pumping Up! He eventually decided to become a book publisher himself, and under Robert Kennedy Publishing, the company has published hundreds of books.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Tosca Reno and their four daughters: Chelsea Kennedy, Rachel Corradetti, Kiersten Corradetti and Kelsey-Lynn Corradetti. Bob’s only son Braden Robert James Kennedy passed away last year due to pneumonia complications at the age of 23.
Kennedy leaves behind a legacy as a pioneer in the field of bodybuilding and physical wellness.
