As far as second acts go, Adela Garcia’s couldn’t be turning out any better.
Three years removed from a career-threatening knee injury, Garcia continues setting records – this time by winning her fifth Fitness international at the 2012 Arnold Sports Festival on Friday night. Garcia, who won her sixth Fitness Olympia title last September, breaking a tie with Susie Curry, has now won seven contests in a row since suffering a torn ACL in 2007. She shows no signs of slowing down.
Camala Rodriguez finished second, the best placing in a major contest of her three-year pro career. Oksana Grishina (third), Bethany Cisternino (fourth) and Tanji Johnson (fifth) rounded out the top five.
