CAMP ADELA “I met Adela Garcia when I did her show in 2004 – she lived in Illinois then. She was awesome. After that, I contacted her and asked ‘What do I do? There were only 5 girls in fitness  and I got last place!” She was like ‘Come stay with me at my house for a few days.’ So I went to Bloomington Illinois in a snowstorm and did a camp with her.”

AWE STRUCK “I was on a dance team for the town of Cedar Rapds and we were invited to dance at the itermission of a bodybuilding copetition. Back then they only had bodybuilding – we’re talking like 1998. After we danced, my rooomates were all ready to leave, but I stayed. I just found it really interesting. I was just in awe and totally wanted to do that.”

JACK OF ALL TRADES “I’ve competed in fitness, figure and bodybuilding. If there were shows where I knew there wasn’t a fitness division, I would do figure. Or bodybuilding. You train so hard and to know that you’re not going to have anybody to compete against  – that’s no fun.”

MOUNTAIN GIRL “I bow hunt, but I only for deer. I’ve been pheasant hunting a few times and been gun hunting once – but that’s a whole different ball game! It was scary so I’m ok with never doing that again. I don’t get get them though –  I call my dad. I’m not involved in any blood. I’ve got the talent, they can do the manual labor!”

STARTING OVER “I just want to continue to enjoying what I’m doing. My goal for my first pro show is just not to be last – I just want to beat one person at my first pro show! I realize I’m going right back down to the bottom of the totem pole.”
