Today’s NPC Athlete Spotlight is of Sarah Skinner
I have been competing for a just a short 2 years now. I competed in both figure and physique in 2012. At Muscle Mayhem I finished 3rd in figure and 4th in women’s physique. My heart was definitely directed towards women’s physique from the start. I love the different poses and being able to have fun on stage with my routine. My next competition was the Missouri State. I finished first in my class for figure and was the overall winner for Women’s Physique! In 2013 I again competed at the Muscle Mayhem to prepare for Jr Nationals. I finished 2nd in my class. At Jr Nationals I came out with a 6th place finish, at my first ever national show!!
This sport is my life. I love every single aspect of it. I love how much detail it takes to get where you want. I love every second of misery as I get closer to my show. I love the results and the discipline it takes to get them. But most importantly I love what this lifestyle teaches my about myself. It brings so much insight in to my life and has truly helped me grow into the woman and athlete I want to be.
Though I don’t have a show picked out for 2014 just yet, I have big goals. I know what I want, and I’m not slowing down anytime soon.
