NPC Contest Roundup: 4/21

The Emerald Cup in Seattle, Washington and the Flint/Mid Michigan Championships highlighted this past weekend in the NPC. Check out all of the action below!

EMERALD CUP: SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

The Emerald Cup keeps getting bigger and better. The 30th Anniversary edition, held this past Friday and Saturday, drew the largest number of competitors in contest history with over 540 athletes. Attendance was estimated at roughly 7,000 for the the two-day event.

– Mosatfa “Moose” El Bokkouchi moved up from the Heavyweight class to win the Super Heavyweight and Overall in Men’s Bodybuilding. Bokkouchi placed second in the heavies at the 2011 Tournament of Champions last September. Originally from Morocco, he now lives in Portland, OR.

– Former bodybuilder Paul Tomko made the switch to the newly-formed Men’s Physique division a year ago. It took a year, but Tomko proved it was the right decision by winning Class C and the Overall Men’s Physique titles. Tomko works as an aerospace engineer for the Department of Defense.

– Vanessa Naesheim from Bakersfield, CA won the Figure Overall and Class D titles. Naesheim placed third in her class at the 2011 Emerald Cup.

– Overall Bikini champ Paola Terry Ois originally from Peru but now resides in Anchorage, AK. She works as Clinical Microbiologist and is trained by 2000 Ms. Olympia Valentina Chepiga.

– Jacklyn Abrams won the Overall Fitness title. Relatively new to the stage, Abrams has been competing in fitness for one year. She cheered professionally for three years with the Colorado Rapid and is coached by 1997 Fitness Olympia and Fitness International winner Carol Semple.

– Ann Marie Kam from Salem Oregon has competed as an NPC lightweight bodybuilder for over ten years. She made the switch to Women’s Physique this year and got off to a great start by winning the Class A and Overall titles.
