I began powerlifting in Waterloo Nebraska by age 16. I continued powerlifting until age 21 and decided to try my hand at bodybuilding at age 22. I won and got the itch to continue to compete. I decided to move back to the west coast and started competing here in Tacoma Washington by the year 2003 at the Tacoma Golds classic.
I began working as a trainer at Bally Total Fitness and stayed there for at least 3 years. I hated the corporate gyms as a result of my experience, so I decided to open my own gym in 2008 and was successful until the depression hit and my landlord went bankrupt and I was forced to close my doors. I had given up on the gym business until 2010 my friend Stan Efferding called me and asked me to come assist him in running his new gym. Flex Wheeler Fitness was born and I have been assisting Stan with Flex Fitness ever since. I love my job and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
