Very sad to report that my good friend Tony Hawes passed away today. Anybody that has competed in an NPC national-level contest the past decade knows Tony. I first met Tony when he was competing in Frank Dalto’s NPC Wheelchair National Championships. Yes! Tony was a competitor! He always had a great attitude & was one of the most fun guys to be around. He didn’t let his disability define him at all. We had an ongoing joke that he was Robin The Boy Wonder to my Batman. Tony ran with that & had fun with it. There are so many other Tony stories that I could go on for days. Tony will truly be missed not only by me but by all who ever had a personal encounter with him. RIP “Robin”
